Cross-Connection Control Program

Residential Cross-Connection Control Program

Ensuring Clean, Safe Drinking Water and Regulatory Compliance is Bloomfield Township's top priority.

For over 15 years, The Township has complied with an important Regulatory Water Safety Compliance Program known as Cross-Connection Control.

Until recently, this State Mandated Program focused on non-residential (commercial) water service connections and onsite visual inspections (coordinated and performed by HydroCorp of Troy, MI) to identify potentially harmful interconnections to the Bloomfield Township Public Water Supply.

Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) are now requiring Public Water Systems to implement a similar Cross-Connection Control Program addressing Residential Water Service Connections.

This web page serves to assist Bloomfield Township Water Customers with their participation in this important safety program. The Township has selected HydroCorp Inc. to assist with Coordination, Site Visits, and Backflow Preventer Testing of Residential Lawn Irrigation System Backflow Preventers (if such system is present during the time of Inspection).
